Bill Viola

Viola is a video artist who graduated from Syracuse in 1973 with a Bachelor degree in Fine Arts. The themes of his work are connected to birth, death, the unfolding of consciousness. He often works with music and combines it with his art.  He is represented by Haunch of Venison in London, The James Cohan Gallery in New York and The Kukje Gallery in Seoul.

The work is very interesting, playing espeically the work above that seems to show a link between nature and humanity. these people are black and white and then change or evolve into color. The instillation took place in a tiny chapel in Venice and the visuals and the sound connection is just amazing. The waves and the water hit the viewer, similarly to the person in the video. The work is powerful and awe inspiring.
